Meet Ashley Basso

First and foremost, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to get to know me. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a strong desire to work with children and animals. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, worked at horse farms, and nannied for a number of families throughout the DC/MD/VA area.

I am now an Equine Specialist for the Center for Trauma, Stress, and Anxiety, LLC. I also work as a Certified Newborn Care Specialist with infants who have various ailments and parents suffering from Postpartum Depression.

It has always been my passion to help anything and everything. As John Holmes says:

“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”

I’m thrilled to be working as an Equine Specialist. Horses have an enhanced state of sensory sensitivity, constantly looking for potential danger. I truly believe people who’ve experienced trauma can especially relate to them, and allow a trusting relationship to gradually develop. With my experience working with people and horses, my goal is to help individuals find the best version of themselves that is buried deep within.

When I’m not in the arena working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, playing with our two dogs, riding horses, scuba diving, and snowboarding!
