Before joining CTSA, I gained experience through both being in the classroom, as well as out in the field. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in psychology in May of 2013 from Salisbury University. Shortly after obtaining my Bachelor’s degree, I began my graduate program in the counseling practitioner track at Loyola University Maryland. At Loyola, I was given the opportunity to learn from clinicians with many different backgrounds and had the privilege of learning clinical skills out in the field. I completed two externship experiences while earning my Master’s degree, first with a non-profit organization and the other within the public school system. After completing my first externship, I was given the opportunity to begin a non-licensed position in the field as a Child Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor. With this position, I obtained hands on experience working with children and their families.
Once graduating with my Master’s degree in August of 2015, I earned my license as a Graduate Professional Counselor and worked at a non-profit organization for two years prior to joining CTSA. Most recently, I obtained my license as a Clinical Professional Counselor with the state of Maryland. Through these experiences, I have been fortunate enough to work with a wide variety of clients from many different walks of life.
In my work as a therapist, it is imperative that I work collaboratively with my clients. My focus is to support those I work with in identifying aspects of their lives that they want to change and/or improve and help them towards achieving their goals. I enjoy working with individuals, including children, adolescents and adults, couples and families who are ready to make change.
When I am not wearing my therapist hat, I enjoy trying new recipes on Pinterest, taking walks with my dog on outdoor trails and spending time with those closest to me.
